 The US Embassy in Tirana emphasizes that it is committed to fighting corruption and respecting the rule of law in our country.

The embassy says the Secretary of State has publicly designated about 100 people worldwide, 14 of whom are Albanians, who have been barred from entering the US.

In the posting made by the embassy, ​​citing the cases of former chief prosecutor Adriatik Llalla, former Durrës mayor Vangjush Dako and MP Tom Doshi, the embassy announces that others are expected to be on the list of banned persons from entering to the US territory. 

 “The US government is committed to fighting corruption and respecting the rule of law around the world. The fight against corruption is a priority of the work of the US Embassy in Tirana. This week, we will explain public determinations for major corruption under Section 7031 (c) of United States legislation. When the United States learns that a foreign government official is involved in major corruption, the Secretary of State has the authority to declare individuals and his / her immediate family members permanently disqualified from entering the United States.
