Chicken meat with salmonella coming from Brazil blocked in Albania

The Food Control Authority (FCA) has announced that in recent stocks have blocked a large amount of unsafe food in well-known supermarkets, but also by importers mainly from Brazil.

360 kg of rice (Riso Parboiled X Insalate) composed of unauthorized substance content imported into our country are seized. On this occasion, fines of 22 million ALL has been imposed.

In Rrogozhina has been found in a supermarket food non-labeled in the Albanian language and this supermarket has been fined with 1.65 million ALL. In Tirana, in a market, the products were kept unsystematic, superimposed and inseparable from other products, the shelves had rust presence, the safe products for consumption were kept in the same environment with the unsafe ones (possible risk of contamination), they traded products with expiration date (Coca-Cola), and had no traceability system.

1.4 million is the value of the fines. While in the port of Durres, inspectors encountered two cargo of imported products unsafe for human consumption and consequently decided to send the products back to the country of origin, more specifically: the first 27 tonnes of "Chicken Fillet" from Brazil failed to meet the legal requirements of food safety as it resulted in microbiological load (analyzes revealed presence of Salmonella spp). The consignment of 19.2 tonnes of “Uncooked Grain Coffee” from Brazil did not meet the legal requirements of food safety, as they lacked the accompanying documentation (the phytosanitary certificate was not issued by the official authority of the country of origin, as provided by law).
