Bulgaria can accept the euro in 2023, according to Fitch

 Bulgaria may accept the euro by 2023. This is stated in the report of the rating agency Fitch. 

The document recalls that the procedure started last year, and by the end of this year is expected a final decision on joining the ERM 2 currency mechanism, still known as the euro waiting room.

Fitch has specified that the adoption of the euro in 2023 is possible only if Bulgaria fulfills all the criteria - not only for the waiting room but also for the future accession to the Eurozone, as the Bulgarian National Television reported today.
