The destiny had been smiling for Stiven Bregu. His story grabbed the hearts of many English people who fought for him to remain on the British Isles. That's because the Immigration Office had decided to deport the 18-year-old Albanian. But the teachers and the community in which he lives fought alongside him to win the battle of deportation...and they succeeded.

The young Albanian has been trafficked to the United Kingdom at the age of 14. According to media reports, Stiven has been left on a street in the town of Keynsham in the middle of the night. He had nothing with him, not even money.

He had fled Albania because of domestic violence. At the time of his arrival in England, he knew a little English. However, the young man managed to be graduated in high school and earn a job internship at a firm in Bristol.

But on the eve of his most important exams, the Albanian teenager received the worst news. The Immigration Office had rejected his application for residency because he reached the age of majority - 18 years old. But Stephen was not alone.

More than 90,000 people signed a petition to stop the deportation of the excellent Albanian student. The initiative was taken by his teacher, Rob Shaw, who in coordination with the students managed to gather all the firms.

"I'm very happy to tell you that Stiven has the right to stay in the United Kingdom. The Immigration Office has two weeks to animate the decision, but assuming they won't, Stiven may start the internship,” he said to media.

A spokeswoman for the Immigration Office, meanwhile, said they were still considering the case before proceeding with other proceedings.
