French authorities of Vinci Airport investing 730m euros in the modernization of Nikola Tesla Airport

 France's "Vinci" airport has officially launched a $ 730m ($ 820m) project for the modernization of the Airport of the Serbian capital of Belgrade named after the Croatian-American inventor Nikola Tesla. The investments will be made in a 25-year concession term aiming to provide high-quality service to the 15 million passengers traveling through this airport, said the press office of the Vinci airport.

The works for the modernization of the airport will be realized in synergy with the Vinci Construction Grands Projets and will increase the quality of airport service according to the highest international standards, said Vinci airport. The project began officially on July 16, this coincided with the visit of the French President Emmanuel Macron to Serbia.

"Over the next 25 years, we will work closely with the Serbian authorities as a key partner of the country's economy," said further Macron.

The main objective of this investment by the Vinci airport is to aim Belgrade into the main focus of Southeast Europe, said the President of the "Vinci" Airport, Nicolas Notebaert. Moreover, the Vinci airport will launch AirPact, its environmental policy, which includes wastewater management, waste management and solar energy development at Belgrade Airport, said further the airport representatives.

Vinci airport took the control of Belgrade Airport officially in December last year. In March 2018, the French company signed a 25-year concession contract covering the financing, operation, maintenance, expansion, and upgrading of the airport.

The Belgrade Airport has served to 2,611 million passengers during the first half of 2019.
