The Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, has spoken from Brussels about the process of opening THE negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania.

The neighboring country's cabinet leader said that France and the Netherlands have voiced THEIR reservations about launching the negotiations with Albania, while stressing that Germany is "afraid" of the threats of the Albanian side, that a closure with the EU could be accompanied by instability in the region, mainly in Kosovo.

The PM of North Macedonia goes further on to say that Germany is also afraid of the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, who, according to him, could threaten the German side with a change of boundaries and a possible union with Kosovo. Zoran Zaev says that despite possible moves, he does not believe this will happen, while asserting that such a step would be a ten-year backward return to Albania.

"They think that if they open the negotiations with North Macedonia and leave out the Albania, there will be a problem and can affect Kosovo. Germans are frightened by the threats of my friend Edi Rama for possible border changes or unification with Kosovo, but I do not believe in these dids, as this means going 10 years back for Albania. While this is not wanted by nobody." he said.
