Montenegro dismissed the national football coach since he refused to participate in the match against Kosovo in qualifying matches for Euro 2020, the Montenegrin football association announced.

Serbian coach Lubisha Tumbakovic did not participated in the game played on June 7 against Kosovo which ended with the score of 1:1. Two Montenegrin players born in Serbia, Filip Stojkovic and Mirko Ivanić, also did not played in this match.

The Montenegrin Football Federation made a unanimous decision to dismiss Tumbakovic after he "decided to be in charge of the national team in the match," the Federation said.

"Apart from being an unpleasant surprise, Tumbakovic's decision also constituted a violation of his professional responsibilities set out in his contract."

Montenegrin daily Vijesti suggested that the pressure from Serbia's party groups pushed the Serbian coach Tumbakovic and the other two Serbian-born players not to play against Kosovo.
