 North Macedonia and Greece will have a new border checkpoint at "Markova Noga" at the Prespa Lake. This was an agreement signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Dimitrov and the Alternate Foreign Minister of Greece, Sia Anagnostopulu.

This Agreement, as Minister Dimitrov stated, is the first to be signed under the provisions of the Prespa Agreement.

"We have again a historic deal, after the historic success in Prespa. Because for the first time in the Agreement is applied the name and terminology contracted in Prespa. I am pleased that this Agreement on the opening of the a border point at "Markova Noga" in the Prespa region was signed in three languages, in Macedonian, Greek and English. The Macedonian language that is important to us and which is spoken by the citizens of North Macedonia and our diaspora, but which does not concern the Greek Macedonians, in the context of Article C, stated Nikola Dimitrov, Foreign Minister of RMV.

The Greek alternate minister, Sia Anagnostopoulou, declared that he feels happy that the cooperation between the two neighbors is deepening.

"I thank all, first and foremost, the Minister Dimitrov for signing this historic agreement and I am very happy to cooperate and to strengthen and deepen the relations between the two countries." - stated Anagnostopulu.

At the meeting between Dimitrov and Anagnostopulu there were also exchanges of views on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries. Particular emphasis has been placed on the implementation of the Prespa Accord in order to intensify the cooperation in all spheres. Also for the European perspective of our country.
