Albanian violinist Jonian Ilias Kadesha holding concert in Tirana

The Known Albanian violinist, Jonian Ilias Kadesha, will perform this evening in Tirana for the capital's public. In the concert hall of the Orthodox Cathedral, the Symphonic Orchestra of Albanian Radio Television will open the new artistic season, with the special participation of the violinist of Albanian origin, accompanied by his two artist friends, the conductor Jonathan Bloxham and the violinist Vashti Hunter.

Before the concert, Kadesha was received by the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj. "I want to give you a little gift like a Tirana boy that you are, even though you were born abroad, but your gene and your blood is of Tirana: This is the Clock Tower of Tirana. Regardless of where you are going to perform, our little timepiece always shows Tirana's clock. So whenever you come back...you will remember of how much you are welcome here. I give you this tower in the name of the city as a sign of gratitude, admiration and respect for you," Veliaj said.

The Mayor assessed that Jonian Kadesha represents those boys and girls who have succeeded thanks to their talent and work, and invited all citizens to join the concert today at 19.00.

"We are looking forward to hearing that young and old girls from Albania have moved ahead, are proud of us, are successful not only for the pride they give us, but also for the fact that they show to young boys and girls here, that everything is possible. When you manage to become a star in the world of music at the age of 20 years-old, just thanks to the work, this encourages other boys and girls all over Albania. We expect all of you to be in the Orthodox Cathedral, at the Culture Center, where Joni and his two colleagues have a great concert, unique in Albania," said Veliaj.

While Jonian Ilias Kadeshi expressed gratitude to mayor Veliaj for this assessment and was excited to be able to play at the opening of the Symphony Orchestra of Albanian Radio Television, where for many years his father also played.

"I am very grateful for this symbolic, meaningful gift. I will put it in the most precious place I have at home, where I hold the violin. Thank you very much for all the support and I would also be very happy to see as many people from Tirana to support us in a very special concert, the opening of the Symphony Orchestra of the Albanian Radio Television. An orchestra with which I am very close at an early age. My dad played in the orchestra and many of his colleagues, his close friends, have become my friends," he said.
