Tragedy in the beaches: Polish tourist and two Albanians drowned in Saranda and Durrës

 Three victims are recorded in Albanian beaches this Saturday, two in Durres and one in Saranda. A Polish tourist is drowned in the Cuka Canal while her body was conveyed for the autopsy in Tirana. Meanwhile, during this morning in Durres, two people have died while swimming on the beach of Currilave and in the Porto Romano area. 

The lack of the observation towers and beach guards remain the main concerns of this new tourist season.

The bad weather on the coast associated with the waves has caused 3 victims on Saturday, including a Polish tourist.

While two other people are saved from drowning in Golem during the afternoon.

The Polish tourist was drowned in Saranda beach as she was swimming in the sea.

The 52-year-old, Noëorycka Peter Iona, was taken out of water while her body was transported to Tirana for autopsy.

Saranda's police in a reaction to the media emphasizes that the investigation has begun to clarify the circumstances of the event.

While earlier, two more people died in the beaches of Durres.

In the morning hours, a 72-year-old was found dead in the coastal area of Currila.

The victim was seen by vacationers who had chosen Curril beach to spend the weekend.

The police, which went immediately to the scene, made it possible to identify the corpse.

According to the police, it is about the 72-year-old with initials A.K., but the cause of his death has not yet been determined, while the body is found a few meters off the coast.

Just a few hours after this event, another 62-year-old man was found dead in the Porto Romano beach where he was swimming in the sea.

While in the afternoon on Saturday, a 14-year-old has endangered his life as he went to sea, but his 44-year-old cousin, who, though with difficulty, managed to save him.

The issue of observation towers and beach guards is one of the main concerns for security on Albanian beaches in this new tourist season.
