They had warned that such a thing would not be be done after touching the dignity of this province, which did not allowed for 500 years and never a single Turkish flag to be raised.

An autonomous province for 500 years with the Albanian flag, considers insult of its dignity that a Turkish company can place the Turkish flag at the entrance of the Mirdita area.

As many opponents opposed the building of this hydropower plant given in concession  by the "Berisha" government, because of damage that could cause in the biodiversity of this area.

Now the placement of the Turkish flag in the mural wall at the dam is not tolerated by them, thus they removed it yesterday demonstrably and destroying it.

A group of Mirditas of all ages have done so, removing this "appendix" according to them from the Mirdita body.

Mirdita is on of Albanian areas where 100 percent of its population is of catholic faith, and has never been invaded by the Ottoman Empire due to the harsh terrain.
