Drita from Israel and Ahmet from Shkodra, though born in the same house and nowadays are in an old age, they meet each-other for the first time in Shkodra after 75 years. "Drita," the Jewish daughter of Mimi Kamhi Ergas Faraxhi and Alberto, baptized with this Albanian name has a long and proud history for us.

In the distant year of 1943, a Jewish family was forced to travel from Skopje to Shkodra to rescue Nazi persecution.

Alberto had a piece of paper in his hand, where Xhemil Shurdha's address was written.

The memorial book "My Life under the Nazi Conquest" by Mimi Kamhi Ergas Faraxhi, published in three languages, Albanian, Macedonian, English by author Skender Asani was promoted yesterday in Shkodra in the framework of the day in memory of the Holocaust.

The memory book shows the life of a Jewish family who has found support in an Albanian family of Shkodra.

Mimi, the author this book, bore in Shkodra, her daughter Drita, who traveled from Israel today to return home after 75 years.

At the Marubi Museum, attendees did not were able to hold their emotions as Drita met with Ahmet, Xhemil's son who 75 years ago opened the door to the Jewish family.

Drita and Ahmeti are the children of two families, one Jew and one Albanian who add "living" testimonies about the contribution the Albanian people have given to save the Jews.

This year, Minister Ditmir Bushati had chosen to hold the Holocaust Memorial Day in Shkodra by inaugurating a memorial book "My Life under the Nazi Conquest".

Speaking in front of the audience, not without emotion, Drita said, "I remember Shkodra as in dreams, as something I did not know how much true was, but now that I came and I saw it, I'm happy to have my memories back , Shkodra is just as beautiful."

Ahmet Shurdha, brought further the memory of those days, as he explained in detail how Mimi was friends with the girls and family women while Alberto was working.

The most pathetic moment of this meeting was when Ahmeti shows the old but carefully guarded pictures of those years.
