 The speaker of the Albanian Parliament, Gramoz Ruçi, received today in a special meeting the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanovic, in the framework of his official visit to our country.

The conversation between the two high personalities focused on the common points and concrete opportunities for developing excellent and multi-faceted existing relations between Albania and Montenegro.

In this context, the President of the Assembly, Gramoz Ruci and the President of Montenegro, Vujanović expressed the common will to further develop cooperation in all areas of mutual interest, especially in the economic spectrum and further deepen the engagement to interact in the regional sphere as two NATO member countries, but also as two countries and peoples aspiring to join the European Union.

The President of the Assembly, Ruci noted that Montenegro's experience of opening negotiations with the European Union is a model and a good experience, which we can refer to and where we can find points of experience. For his part, Mr. Vujanovic said that the rapid opening of Albania's negotiations with the European Union would be a positive signal, which would be expected with satisfaction from the Montenegrin side. Both personalities shared the same view that the opening of negotiations with the EU would have a positive impact on the citizens to support the push forward of important reforms for the country's development.

During the meeting, the Speaker of the Albanian Parliament and the President of Montenegro, Filip Vujanović expressed mutual appreciation for the special role of the national minorities, the Albanian minority in Montenegro and the Montenegrin minority in Albania, as a linkage bridge between the two countries and our peoples.

An important factor in the cooperation between our two countries for achieving progressive results and concrete products.

Another point of discussion at this meeting was the increase in parliamentary cooperation between our two countries. The two personalities, Mr. Ruci and Mr. Vujanovic expressed appreciation for the important role that friendship groups have in this context.

Montenegrin President Filip Vujanovic conveyed to the Speaker of Parliament, Ruci, the greetings and congratulations of his Montenegrin counterpart with the wish to intensify the relations between the two parliaments.
