Albanian language as an elective in Turkey

Albanian and Bosnian language will be set next year in Turkish schools as an elective.

The program and materials of the case of Albanian and Bosnian language to be placed in the curriculum will be prepared by Trakya University, reports Anadolu Agency (AA).

General Director of Basic Education at the Ministry of Education of Turkey, Dr. Gençoğlu Cem, at the signing ceremony of the protocol in the meeting room of the rector of Trakya University, has announced that next year Albanian and Bosnian language will be placed in the curriculum as an elective since the 5th grade.

He emphasized that the curricula and teaching materials in both languages will be prepared by Trakya University. "We do not consider the Bosnian and Albanian languages as foreign language, but as one of the languages to establish ties of our common civilization. In Bosnia and Herzegovina there are 6 thousand Bosniak students who learn Turkish, and we say that our children can be express them "Dobri Dosli. I hope that this will in our view be regarded as a cultural meeting ".

Meanwhile Trakya University Rector, Prof. Dr. Tabakoğlu Erhan, noting that their mission and the expansion of the university as the Balkans, said he is proud that their university will prepare the programs of these teachings.

And then the protocol was signed by Gençoğlu and Tabakoğlu.

The ceremony is attended by Vice / Rector of Trakya University, Prof. Dr. Mümin Şahin, Dean of Lirësisë  University in Trakya Prof. Dr. İlker Alp, director of the Education Department of the city of Edirne, Hüseyin Özcan and professors of the School of Foreign Languages of Trakya University.
