IMF, other 35.9 million euros loan for Albania

The International Monetary Fund approved the next installment of EUR 35.9 million for Albania. Fund's executive board in Washington has given approval for the disbursement of loan installment, in the framework of the program 8 with the Albanian government signed about 3 years ago.

In total, so far are disbursed 298 mln euro. But although estimated the economic recovery, driven by investments in the energy sector and a gradual increase in domestic demand, the IMF leaves some recommendations to the government about the debt and the property tax.

"Structural fiscal reforms that enable property tax by market value will strengthen the management of public finances.

Policy authorities should continue to focus on fiscal adjustment by supporting growth through monetary easing," the press release of IMF noted.

Monetary Fund assesses that credit growth remains slow, being limited by bad loans.
