An agreement on Justice Reform is reached

 After several hours of intense negotiations between the SP, PD, LSI and internationals is announced that a consensus is reached on Justice Reform. 

The agreement provides that the selection formula of the members of  justice institutions is the same as that of veting. According to it, 5 of 11 members of High Judicial Council and the Supreme Council of the Prosecution, will be selected by a committee of 5 members of Parliament, 3 from the majority and two from the opposition. A candidate must earn at least 4 votes in order to be selected. If there is a jam, then the selection is done by lottery.

Ilir Meta, head of the Parliament who firstly announced the reaching of the agreement, thanked the Prime Minister Edi Rama, the leader of the opposition and ambassadors Lu and Vlahutin. Mr. Meta said that the agreement is a sign of maturity, and said it expects to be formalized unanimously in Parliament. Edi Rama, the head of government by his Facebook expressed gratitude for the US and the EU, whose representatives showed an exemplary perseverance.

Now is expected some formalities in the parliamentary committee on Justice Reform and then everything will go to plenary session.
