During a lecture held at the Faculty of Social Sciences in Tirana, US ambassador, Alexander Arvizu spoke about family values, society, community, but also touched the harsh Albanian politics and what's going on every Thursday in Parliament.

Yesterday's Assembly session, where DP deputy Sali Berisha insulted Erion Veliaj's family from the podium, the American representative in Tirana described it as a comedy.

"The strength of any society and any country is not wealth and politicians, - Arvizu said. - I say this also for the comedy that we look every Thursday, such as the Albanian's Parliament story yesterday.

The strength of any society is family, so it is important that they become strong and have courage."

Asked about the police operation in Lazarat, Arvizu admitted: "All the time during the operation I was in permanent contact with Minister Tahiri. I encourage Lazarat police operation, but must be accompanied by arrests and prosecutions, and we hope that based on facts, there will be arrests. The arrests should be made under the law, as most citizens are not involved...I appreciate the fact that the action is undertaken with care and that there were no casualties."
