Le Figaro: The Albanian mafia conquers France and expects EU membership

Seems that Albanians are becoming "famous" even in the heart of Europe. French media wrote today about the Albanian mafia as a major concern to the French police and authorities, saying it has strengthened positions in this country.

"Le Figaro" has published a document that "Albanian bands from Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia have increased their presence in France, becoming a real risk".

The document allegedly emerged from the French Ministry of Justice states that "the Albanian mafia is hoping for Albania's fastest membership in the EU to conduct criminal activity in France".

Le Figaro writes further that the presence of Albanian-speaking criminals has increased since 2010.

It is also said that these groups focus their criminal activity in three directions: thefts, drugs and migrants' traffic.

"The results are impressive: in mid-November 2017 and October 2018, five Albanians have committed 98 thefts in eleven departments, robbing goods worth of 423,000 euros," the article writes.

Further on, "Albanian criminal groups have promoted heroin trafficking in the Swiss-French border area", making thus the drug trafficking one of their strong activities.

In May, an asylum seeker was convicted in Lyon for transforming his housing into a heroine lab. The applicant claimed that he had acted at the request of a compatriot and wanted to help his sick father in Albania.

While the illegal immigrant trafficking from Kosovo or Albania, especially towards Britain is really a big concern for the UK.

Upon arriving in the north of France, Albanian traffickers seeks 1,500 to 5,000 euros for one passage toward UK.
