Albania’s Republican Guard Union Demands Immediate Salary Increase After Police Pay Rise

The Trade Union of Albania’s Republican Guard has appealed to the government and the Ministry of Finance, calling for an immediate review of salaries for personnel serving in the institution.

The appeal follows the government’s decision to increase the financial compensation of State Police employees, prompting the union to raise concerns about what it describes as unequal financial treatment of Republican Guard personnel.

In its statement, the union argues that members of the Republican Guard have not received adequate financial recognition, claiming that their salary situation has remained unchanged since 2001.

The union is therefore calling on the authorities to address the issue and reconsider the pay structure for its employees, following the latest increase granted to State Police officers.

The appeal brings renewed attention to salary differences between Albania’s security institutions and the need to review the financial treatment of personnel carrying out public security duties.
