The Kosovo Police traces its institutional beginnings to September 6, 1999, when 176 cadets began training as the first generation of Kosovo Police officers.
Since then, the institution has undergone a continuous process of professionalization and development. From the original 176 cadets, the Kosovo Police has grown into an institution with more than 9,000 officers serving communities across Kosovo.
