Students and young people in Albania who are looking for work are raising concerns about job vacancy announcements that remain online or outside businesses even after the positions have apparently been filled.

The situation has raised questions among people actively searching for employment: Are all the job vacancies being advertised actually available, or do some remain active as empty advertisements after the position has been filled?
For students trying to work alongside their studies and earn an income, an outdated job announcement is more than a minor inconvenience. Phone calls, messages and visits to businesses take time and can create expectations around an opportunity that may no longer exist.
“Just tell us that the position has been filled so we know what to do. It’s not a problem if a job has already been taken, but the announcement should be removed or clearly state that the position is no longer available,” one young job seeker said.
The concern highlights a broader issue surrounding the way job vacancies are published and updated. At a time when many young people are competing for a limited number of opportunities, clear and accurate information about genuinely available positions becomes increasingly important.
For job seekers, the solution is straightforward: once a position is filled, the vacancy should either be removed or clearly marked as closed. This would help applicants avoid wasting time and allow them to focus on genuine employment opportunities.
