Etrit Berisha Returns as Albania Announces Nations League Squad

The Albanian Football Federation has announced the squad selected by head coach Rolando Maran for Albania’s first four Nations League matches.

The biggest surprise is the return of Etrit Berisha, who has been absent from the national team for more than two years. Thomas Strakosha is missing from the squad due to injury.

Maran has also included two debutants, Samuele Sina and Sabah Kerjota. Kerjota was recently watched in person by Maran while playing for Hearts.

Up front, Armando Broja has been left out after a difficult run of form with Burnley, while Nedim Bajrami is also missing from the squad.

Albania will begin its Nations League campaign against Belarus on September 26 at the National Arena in Tirana. Three days later, the team will travel to face San Marino.

The next match will be away against Finland on October 3, followed by another home game against San Marino on October 6.
