Young Protesters in Albania Demand Justice Outside SPAK Over Major Corruption Cases

A group of young protesters gathered again today outside the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption (SPAK) in Tirana, holding banners and calling for answers on corruption cases that they say have yet to receive justice.

The protesters used their banners to draw attention to several high-profile cases and scandals, demanding that SPAK provide greater accountability and transparency.

Among the cases mentioned were the Durrës Port project, the McGonigal case, the Zvërnec affair, the alleged patronage network, and the incinerator case.

The young demonstrators questioned why these cases have not yet produced the results they are demanding and called on prosecutors to advance investigations and establish responsibility where wrongdoing is proven.

The protest was peaceful, with the participants remaining outside the SPAK building and displaying their messages to passing citizens.

The demonstration comes amid continued public pressure on Albania's anti-corruption authorities over several major investigations that have attracted significant political and public attention.

Protesters Demand Justice

The protesters say that public trust in institutions depends on investigations being completed and those responsible for corruption being held accountable through the justice system.

They are calling on SPAK to provide answers on the cases highlighted during the demonstration and to ensure that investigations are conducted independently and transparently.
