Lillestrøm thought they had taken an early lead through Ruben Gabrielsen in the sixth minute, but the goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

Egnatia responded strongly, with Daniel Adjessa coming close in the 26th minute, only for Lillestrøm goalkeeper Pontus Dahlberg to make an excellent save. Alessandro Albanese also went close before halftime, sending his effort narrowly over the crossbar.

The hosts came even closer after the break when Fernando Medeiros headed against the crossbar in the 71st minute.

Lillestrøm had a late opportunity through Felix Va, but his shot from inside the box went just wide.

Neither side could find the decisive goal, and the first leg ended 0-0. The return leg is scheduled for August 27 in Norway, where the winner will secure a place in the Europa League league phase.
