78th Consecutive Protest in Tirana: Diaspora Joins Rally as Protesters Demand Edi Rama’s Resignation

The 78th consecutive protest in Tirana came to an end on Sunday evening after several hours of demonstrations, speeches and a march through the streets of the Albanian capital.

A significant number of Albanians from the diaspora took part in the latest rally, joining protesters in front of the Prime Minister’s Office and expressing their opposition to the government led by Prime Minister Edi Rama.

Protesters Demand Edi Rama’s Resignation

During the demonstration, protesters once again called for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, repeating the demand for the 78th consecutive day.

The rally was marked by strong anti-government slogans and calls for political and legal accountability among Albania’s political leadership.

Protesters also called for the imprisonment of Sali Berisha, leader of the Democratic Party, making the demand part of the slogans and messages voiced during the demonstration.

March Continues Through Tirana

Following the speeches in front of the Prime Minister’s Office, protesters continued their action with a march through several of Tirana’s main streets.

Anti-government chants continued throughout the march, as participants expressed their opposition to the current government and the country’s political situation.

The participation of members of the Albanian diaspora added another dimension to the 78th protest, highlighting the involvement of Albanians living abroad in the country’s political developments and public debate.

78th Day of Protests Comes to an End

At the conclusion of the march, protesters gradually dispersed, marking the end of the 78th consecutive day of demonstrations in Tirana.

Organizers have announced that the civic action will continue in the coming days, with further demonstrations expected as protesters maintain their demands against the government.

The 78th protest therefore becomes another chapter in the prolonged wave of demonstrations in the Albanian capital, while it remains to be seen whether the sustained mobilization will lead to any political response from the government.
