Alleged Killing of Eglant Koçi Inside Tirana Property Near Ismail Qemali School
Armand Shakaj is under investigation for the alleged killing of Eglant Koçi in a violent incident reported to have taken place inside a business and office space in Tirana.
According to preliminary investigative findings, the victim was shot in the head on June 4 inside a location close to the “Ismail Qemali” school area. Authorities believe the attack was followed by a coordinated effort to conceal the crime.
The case has drawn significant attention due to the complexity of the alleged actions that followed the killing.
Body Transport From Tirana to Ibë and Remote Mountain Routes Across Elbasan Region
Investigators report that one day after the incident, the suspect allegedly placed the victim’s body inside a luxury vehicle and transported it using a tow truck toward the village of Ibë.
From there, the route continued through multiple rural and mountainous areas, including Cërrujë, Mollagjesh, and Funar.
The path eventually led toward the remote mountainous area of Majë e Korrës, a location characterized by difficult terrain and limited accessibility.
Alleged Motive and Unclear Relationship Between Suspect and Victim
Authorities have not officially confirmed a motive, but early reports suggest the suspect and victim were known to each other and had a close personal relationship.
The absence of a publicly established motive remains a central question in the investigation.
Law enforcement sources continue to examine whether personal disputes, financial issues, or other factors contributed to the alleged crime.
Witness Reports and Digital Tracking Helped Narrow Search Area
The investigation gained momentum after shepherds reportedly observed a vehicle matching the suspect’s car moving through rural routes in the Funar and Cërrujë areas.
Digital forensic tools also played a critical role. Mobile phone data analysis, including IMSI-catcher technology, reportedly helped authorities identify the last known signal location of the suspect’s device.
These combined elements allowed investigators to focus search operations in a restricted mountainous zone.
Drone Operation Leads to Discovery of Victim’s Body in Majë e Korrës
After approximately ten days of coordinated search efforts, police drones identified the location where the body of Eglant Koçi was allegedly hidden.
The discovery was made in a remote and hard-to-reach part of Majë e Korrës, confirming suspicions that the area had been used to conceal evidence.
Authorities have described the terrain as a significant challenge for ground operations.
Police Investigation Intensifies After Questioning and Contradictory Statements
Following the disappearance, Armand Shakaj was reportedly questioned by investigators after phone records indicated he was the last person in contact with the victim.
During questioning, he allegedly denied knowledge of Koçi’s whereabouts and later met with the victim’s relatives while expressing concern over his disappearance.
However, investigators now believe these statements were misleading based on collected forensic and digital evidence.
The case remains under active investigation as authorities work to reconstruct the full timeline of events.
