A tragic incident has shocked the coastal area of Tale in Lezhë, where two minor girls, aged 11 and 9, have died after reportedly drowning in the sea under still unclear circumstances.

Eyewitness accounts and early reports suggest that the situation developed rapidly, leaving little to no time for immediate intervention. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether strong waves, underwater currents, or other environmental factors played a decisive role.
Once the alarm was raised, emergency services and police units were quickly dispatched to the scene. Rescue teams managed to recover the bodies of both girls from the water, but despite their efforts, the minors were declared dead.
Their bodies were later transported to the morgue of the Regional Hospital of Lezhë, where further procedures are expected as part of the official investigation.
The incident has raised serious concerns about safety conditions along parts of the Albanian coastline, particularly during the summer season when beach attendance increases significantly. Public beaches such as Tale often attract families with children, yet supervision levels can vary widely depending on the time and crowd conditions.
