Vrioni is no stranger to Austrian football. During his time with WSG Tirol, he impressed strongly in the 2021–2022 season, scoring 19 goals and establishing himself as one of the standout strikers in the league. That performance significantly raised his profile across European football.
Born in Italy, Vrioni initially represented Italian youth national teams before opting to play for Albania at senior level, becoming a regular option in the national squad’s attacking line.
After his successful spell in Austria, he moved to Major League Soccer, where he played for New England Revolution and CF Montreal. However, his most consistent form has traditionally come in European competitions.
His return to Austria is seen as an opportunity to regain rhythm and rediscover his scoring form in a familiar environment. Wolfsberger AC will be hoping that his experience across Italy, Austria, and the United States will strengthen their attacking options for the upcoming seasons.
For Vrioni, the move represents both a reset and a chance to re-establish himself as a decisive forward in a league where he has already proven his quality.
