Under the guidance of head coach Alban Bushi and his technical staff, the young “Kuqezinjtë” have been training regularly over the past days, focusing on tactical work, physical conditioning, and squad cohesion.

The final training session in Durrës is expected to take place this afternoon, after which the team will travel to Italy to continue their preparations on site before the first match.

The opening friendly will see Albania U-21 face Slovenia U-21 on 5 June at 20:15 local time. The match will be played at the “Ajdovščina” stadium and is expected to provide a strong test for the Albanian side against a well-organized European opponent.

Just three days later, on 8 June, Albania U-21 will take on Italy U-21 in another high-level friendly encounter. The match is scheduled for 18:15 and will be held at the “Omero Tognon” stadium, offering another valuable opportunity for assessment against one of Europe’s strongest youth football systems.

These two fixtures are considered important benchmarks for the coaching staff, who are using the friendlies to evaluate player performance, test tactical variations, and build squad depth as preparation continues for the UEFA European Under-21 Championship 2027 cycle.

The matches are also expected to provide younger players with valuable international experience, especially against teams like Italy and Slovenia, which traditionally maintain strong youth development programs.

As the build-up continues, expectations remain focused on steady progress and long-term development rather than immediate results, with the U-21 setup aiming to strengthen its competitive identity on the European stage.
