Authorities in Albania announced the successful completion of the coded operation “Banesa,” led by the Narcotics Investigation Section in cooperation with the Special Operational Force of Durrës Police. The suspect, identified as E.K., was apprehended in flagrante delicto in neighborhood no. 8, where he had allegedly hidden the narcotics in an uninhabited apartment near his residence.

According to official police statements, officers acted on intelligence gathered through operational channels. The suspect was caught while attempting to retrieve the illegal substance, believed to be Cannabis Sativa, which was confiscated as material evidence. The case highlights ongoing efforts by Albanian law enforcement to combat drug production and distribution across the Balkans region.

The investigation remains active, with authorities working to identify other individuals potentially involved in the criminal network. Procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction in Durrës for further legal action.
