The Albanian Football Federation (FSHF) organized an important event on Monday to unveil its new long-term strategy titled “Vision to Victory 2026–2030”, a plan of projects intended to bring qualitative changes to Albanian football over the next four years, developed in collaboration with top UEFA experts after extensive research.
At the launch event held at the “House of Football,” attendees included FSHF President Armand Duka, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports Blendi Gonxhja, presidents and representatives of Albanian clubs, regional football association leaders, members of the football community, former well-known players, sponsors, partner organizations, media, and others.
President Duka reviewed the outcomes of the previous strategy, “Football for the Nation,” emphasizing that 95% of its objectives have either been achieved or are in advanced stages of implementation.
He then presented the new Vision to Victory 2026–2030 strategy, describing it as a clear vision for the development of Albanian football at all levels. The strategy aims to:
Increase participation and improve the quality of football,
Strengthen organizational structures,
Make sustainable investments in infrastructure,
Develop young talent.
Duka outlined specific goals, including expanding grassroots programs in schools and communities, empowering regional associations, supporting clubs with youth teams, creating more organized activities for children and youth, improving infrastructure, and continuing projects like “My Uniform” and “Your Ball”.
On infrastructure, the federation aims to add 30–40 new football fields by 2030, especially in the Tirana region to improve the current poor ratio of one football field per 18,981 residents, compared with about one field per 3,800 residents in more developed European countries. However, the larger national goal of 200 new football fields will require state budget support beyond what the federation alone can provide.
A key strategic objective is also increasing attendance at national league matches across all levels in collaboration with professional clubs and academies. Financial strengthening of clubs and academies through direct federation funding — such as €3 million allocated for 2026 — and through cooperation with the government on a Sports Sponsorship Law is another major focus.
The strategy also sets national team targets:
The men’s senior team aims to qualify for European and World Cup finals and reach FIFA ranking No. 50.
The U-21 men’s team aims to get past the group stage in Euro U-21 2027 (to be held in Albania) and to qualify for Euro U-21 2029.
The women’s national team seeks to stay in UEFA Nations League B and qualify for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2029 in Germany.
President Duka stressed that the strategy is not just a vision document but a concrete action plan to make Albanian football more competitive internationally. He described Vision to Victory as an open invitation for unity, ambition, and confidence — aiming not only for sporting success but also for football that develops people, communities, and the country. The next four years, he said, will be decisive.
Minister Blendi Gonxhja highlighted the importance of partnership between the ministry and the federation, stressing that sport, especially football, can be a major economic and tourism generator for Albania and reaffirmed support for the new Sports Sponsorship Law as a crucial step for developing sport nationwide.
