Warning: Fake Crypto Investment Platform TXEX Exposed as Online Scam in Albania

A new wave of online fraud has emerged in Albania, targeting unsuspecting citizens with promises of fast profits through cryptocurrency investments. The National Authority for Cyber Security (AKSK) has issued an urgent warning about a suspicious platform called TXEX, presented online as a legitimate crypto investment app.

Warning: Fake Crypto Investment Platform TXEX Exposed as Online Scam in Albania

TXEX – Not Registered, Not Licensed, Fully Illegal

According to AKSK, TXEX is neither registered nor licensed in Albania, and it operates completely outside the country’s legal framework. Despite this, it has been aggressively promoted online, luring dozens of citizens into what experts describe as a high-risk scam operation.

Authorities confirm that several victims have already reported financial losses, with no possibility of recovering their money.

How the TXEX Crypto Scam Works

Investigators explain that TXEX follows the classic pattern of online financial fraud:

  • Fake advertisements on social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.

  • Simulated communication groups on Telegram, WhatsApp, and Signal to create the illusion of an active investor community.

  • Fabricated profit reports designed to build trust and push victims to invest more.

  • Requests for additional payments, often under the pretense of “verification” or “fund withdrawal fees.”

  • Collection of sensitive personal data, including ID documents and photos, putting victims at risk of identity theft and further misuse of their information by criminal networks.

The consequences are severe: irreversible financial losses, high risks to digital privacy, and potential long-term exploitation of personal data.

Citizens Urged to Stay Alert

AKSK has issued clear recommendations for the public:

  • Do not invest or transfer money through TXEX or similar unlicensed platforms.

  • Do not share personal documents or sensitive data with unknown online entities.

  • Report suspicious cases immediately to the authorities.

The agency also revealed that, in addition to TXEX, two other fraudulent platforms have recently been identified and blocked in Albania.

Criminal Investigation Underway

The State Police has already launched a criminal investigation into the TXEX scam and related fraudulent activities. Authorities emphasize that cybercrime is on the rise, and public awareness is the first line of defense.

Final Warning

Experts warn that if an online investment opportunity promises fast profits with little risk, it is almost certainly a scam. The TXEX case serves as a strong reminder for Albanian citizens—and crypto investors worldwide—to stay vigilant and verify the legitimacy of financial platforms before engaging with them.
