An evening filled with emotion and artistry unfolded at the Cultural Center for Children in Durrës, where young guitarist Gerd Kurti gave his first solo recital in classical guitar. The event marked a significant milestone in the budding musician's journey, leaving a lasting impression on all in attendance.
Before a carefully selected audience, the 16-year-old performer showcased a rich repertoire featuring works by renowned composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach and Francisco Tárrega. His performance reflected not only remarkable talent but also a deep commitment to the art of music.
“I’ve prepared a 45-minute program. I start with a baroque piece and end with a tango. There are calm pieces, more modern ones, even contemporary – it’s designed for all ages. I’ve been playing classical guitar for 11 years, and I do it with great passion. I feel appreciated and motivated to work even harder,” said Gerd Kurti.
For him, success on stage is more than personal achievement – it’s a message to his peers to pursue their passions and invest in the arts and sports as a path toward personal and spiritual growth.
“It’s not hard at all if you have support. I want all young people to get involved in music, in sports. There’s nothing more beautiful. They should follow their dreams and passions,” he added.
The concert concluded with thunderous applause and visible emotion in the eyes of parents, teachers, and relatives. It was the most meaningful reward for the young artist, who, with this recital, opened a new chapter on his path toward a professional music career.
