A statement released from the French presidential palace asserts that the normalization of relations with Kosovo is a crucial component of Serbia's accession process to the EU. Macron, through this communication, reaffirms his personal commitment and full support for Serbia's European integration efforts.

"Emmanuel Macron will affirm, on this occasion, his connection and full support for Serbia's European integration, emphasizing that the normalization of relations with Kosovo is an integral part of the accession process to the EU," the statement from the French presidential palace reads.

According to the renowned French newspaper Le Figaro, the meeting between Macron and Vučić at the Élysée Palace will commence at 8 p.m., followed by a joint press statement and a dinner between the two leaders.

The French media outlet highlights that discussions between the two parties will focus on Serbia's European integration and the relations between Belgrade and Pristina, the capital of Kosovo.

"Both presidents will also discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in the fields of defense, energy, innovation, and artificial intelligence," announced the Élysée Palace.

This meeting between Macron and Vučić comes at a crucial juncture, with Serbia aiming to advance its EU membership aspirations. The normalization of relations with Kosovo has long been a key requirement set by the EU for Serbia's accession talks.

The dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina has been ongoing for years, mediated by the European Union, with the aim of reaching a comprehensive agreement that would lead to lasting peace and stability in the region. Macron's active involvement in this process signals France's commitment to supporting the Western Balkans' integration into the European Union.

As the meeting approaches, all eyes are on the outcomes and potential breakthroughs that may emerge, not only in terms of EU integration but also regarding the complex dynamics between Serbia and Kosovo. The discussions between Macron and Vučić hold the promise of shaping the future trajectory of these relations and furthering the European aspirations of the entire region.
