Albania's Illegal Opposition "Plans to Burn Down" the Parliament

As political tensions escalate in Albania, the illegal opposition led by the former Prime Minister, who is currently under arrest for major corruption, is considering various scenarios, including setting fire to the parliament, boycotting the assembly hall, and hunger strikes. What is certain so far is that the illegal opposition intends to radicalize its actions.

Until now, one of the members of the illegal opposition, who ran previously for the municipality of Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, stated that the opposition has achieved much but will not stop.

On the other hand, invited to a local media outlet, Këlliçi was also stopped from speaking about the Amnesty Law and the Electoral Reform, which have once again become a "bone of contention," involving both the government and the legal opposition of the Democratic Party.

Këlliçi: Plan for Radicalizing Opposition Action! Parliament Could Be Set Ablaze

Belind Këlliçi has declared that the opposition has a plan to radicalize its actions. He also outlined some of the scenarios being discussed.

"With the blockade, something has been achieved; no longer can it be said that parliament is at a standstill, and today, the Socialist Party appoints the opposition and who leads the Democratic Party. If we withdraw, it either means that we have been doing propaganda so far, or we will not be allowed to do our job. The idea of radicalizing opposition action is being discussed, the idea of a blockade, a stronger protest. The fire could even be set to parliament; it has happened everywhere in the world; there are various forms of civil disobedience to raise awareness among citizens and internationals," Këlliçi expressed.
