From 2013 until today, more than 930,000 Albanians have left Albania for European countries and beyond. From the statistics, it's the young people who have chosen to leave, but even the older generation isn't far behind.

Caught in these numbers, parents in Albania are afraid of the fact that their children will leave the country, risking their lives, as many young people in recent years have left by boat for England.

Such is the case of Afrim Cenaj from Kukes. He is a mechanic in the northern city and has a son in his twenties. Afrim tells JOQ that he is teaching his son the trade of a mechanic and convincing him not to leave Albania, despite the slim hope that our country will one day become like all European countries.

Symbolic of this, he sent a photo while holding his son's hand near the business he has opened.

"This is a photo of me with my son, I am holding his hand because I don't want him to emigrate. I want us to fight for our country and not for emigration. I'm teaching my son the trade as well," Afrim says for JOQ!
