Albanian Prime Minister says that salaries in Albania will reach €900 within two years

Edi Rama
Edi Rama, the leader of the Albanian government, has made an announcement stating that the average salary in Albania is predicted to rise to 900 euros in two years. According to Rama, the plan will first involve a salary increase for some employees, with the full plan to be released soon.

He mentioned that the goal is to reach the same level as the rest of the region within two years and that the new opportunity will be maximized for the benefit of families. Following the increase in the minimum wage, the average wage will also increase. Additionally, Rama mentioned that pensioners will receive a reward of 5,000 LEK (equivalent to about 45 euros).

It must be said that Albania has made significant progress in improving its standard of living over the past few decades. However, compared to many other European countries, the standard of living in Albania is still relatively low. The country faces several challenges, including high unemployment rates, a large informal economy, and low wages. Additionally, the country has a relatively low GDP per capita and struggles with issues such as corruption, political instability, and organized crime. Despite these challenges, Albania has made significant strides in areas such as infrastructure development, access to education and healthcare, and increasing foreign investment.
