Kosovo declares 'persona non grata' Daria Asmalova, the Russian citizen accused of espionage

Kosovo has declared the Russian citizen, Daria Asmalova, 'persona non grata', for whom many countries have confirmed that she was engaged in espionage for the military intelligence of Russia.

The news was announced this Sunday by the Minister of Internal Affairs in Kosovo, Xhelal Sveçla, through a post on social networks.

Sveçla said that Asmalova has been banned from entering the territory of the Republic of Kosovo for 5 years.

According to him, anyone with certain goals and directives who violates or tries to destabilize Kosovo, will without question face the force of the country's laws.

A day ago, the Russian citizen was stopped at the border point in the north of Kosovo and then arrested by the police.

Her arrest was made on the same day after the border surveillance unit in Zubin Potok was attacked 10 times with firearms while deploying a patrol boat in Ujman Lake.

Whereas, a few days ago, tensions were caused in the North of Kosovo due to the decision to implement the reciprocity of license plates and identity cards for the Serbs of the North.

The latter blocked the roads in protest using heavy tonnage vehicles.
