Deputy Defense Minister Shemsi Syla says Serbia is using various provocation methods in order to destabilize Kosovo. But he adds that Belgrade will not achieve its goal.

"Serbian politics is using various methods of staging and cases in which intends to provoke the situation. All these elements that are factual in the provocations of the police and other parts and other forms and ways are in the continuation of the Serbian plan for destabilization", says the Deputy Minister of Defense, Euronews reports.

According to him, Serbia is avoiding dialogue in Brussels, as it is not ready to face Kosovo's positions.

"There is a lack of readiness to be in dialogue and all that it does is for a purpose, to hinder dialogue because now is not ready to enter into dialogue to talk," he says.

Syla added that they are working towards building the capacity of the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) in order to achieve NATO membership as soon as possible, for which, according to him, there is the support of many partner countries.

"We have support from many other countries, at least verbally, but also statements which are in the instances of states, in positions and in the institutional aspect", he says.

Here he mentions the preparations that have begun for participation in the largest field exercise of the American army, Defender Europe 23, which according to him, is a clear signal of the credibility that NATO and the United States have for the KSF.

He said that the money that is being collected in the Security Fund will go to the key needs of the Kosovo Security Force.

Syla emphasizes that there is a need for additional equipment, armament, and fulfillment of the capacities that an army needs.

Syla does not show any approximate figures for the fundraising in this fund but adds that their investment will be analyzed by military experts.

According to him, the biggest contribution is coming from emigrants who have businesses and are expressing great interest in this fund.

On March 2 of this year, the Government of Kosovo established the Security Fund to which various citizens and donors can contribute.
