Police rescue Polish tourist who broke his leg in Gjipe canyons with the help of a climber


A 24-year-old tourist has been rescued by police forces in the canyons of Gjipe.

Police say the 24-year-old had fallen and suffered a fractured leg.


He was pulled out between the rocks after a few hours with the help of climber Kosta Jaho.

Due to the rugged mountainous terrain, Albania attracts every year more and more adventure tourists from Northern Europe, where most of them are Poles. In fact this is not the first case where tourists are injured or lost and then rescued by the police.
