Greek and Russian languages may be closed at the Albanian State University because they have no students

Greek and Russian language departments at the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the University of Tirana are in danger of closing. This is due to the fact that there is no enrollment in the Greek language branch, while in the Russian language there is only 1 student. This was announced by the Rector of the University of Tirana, Artan Hoxha, according to whom the two branches of the Faculty of Foreign Languages may be closed this year.

According to Hoxha, the increase in the average grade, the duration of studies and the salary in these professions, are some of the reasons that students hesitate.

"The causes taken together should make us think in order to completely review the attitudes of higher education institutions," he says.

About 58 thousand graduates have applied for about 5100 vacancies to start their studies at the University of Tirana this academic year.
