Adriatik Llalla disappears after Court sentenced him; may be declared internationally wanted

 Former Chief Prosecutor of Albania Adriatik Llalla is currently declared internationally wanted. After he was not found at home on Wednesday evening, the State Police spread information about the detention of the former chief prosecutor to other local police structures throughout Albania.

Referring to the verifications in the electronic database administered by the Police, Llalla left Albania about two weeks ago. Official sources at SPAK inform Euronews Albania that if the former chief prosecutor is not found, then will begin the procedures for his announcement internationally wanted by Interpol Tirana.

The day before, Adriatik Llalla was sentenced by a final decision of the Special Court of Appeal Against Corruption and Organized Crime.

He was found guilty of non-disclosure and concealment of property in 3 episodes. The former chief prosecutor is accused of not declaring an amount of about $ 7400 spent on the birth of his son, the cost of building the third floor of the apartment, and the cost of educating his daughter in Germany.

The court decided to confiscate his property, an apartment in Durrës and about 22 thousand square meters of arable land on the outskirts of Tirana. As an additional sentence Llalla should not exercise any public function for 5 years.
While some local portals write that Llalla has gone to Switzerland to seek political asylum.
