Albania, 3 COVID-19 deaths in the last 24 hours, 69 new cases

 The Ministry of Health has announced that in the last 24 hours, 3 citizens affected by coronavirus have died.

The victims are: a 44-year-old from Durrës, a 71-year-old patient from Tirana and an 85-year-old patient, also from Tirana. All 3 patients had concomitant diseases and could not survive due to aggravation of their health condition. So far, 62 people affected by Covid-19 have lost their lives.

Meanwhile, during the last 24 hours, 69 other people have been confirmed affected.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection informs you about the epidemiological situation in the country, where there are still new hospitalizations, there is still an increase in the number of people affected by Covid19, almost all over Albania.

Therefore, we invite every citizen to show care by maintaining personal hygiene, maintaining physical distance, placing the mask in public places.

Unfortunately, despite the efforts of the medical staff, 3 citizens have lost the battle with Covid19 in the last 24 hours. A 44-year-old woman from Durrës, a 71-year-old patient from Tirana and an 85-year-old patient also from Tirana. All 3 patients had some concomitant diseases and could not survive due to aggravation of health condition, despite intensive treatment by medical staff.

There are still hospitalizations in the infectious disease hospital where 79 patients are currently being treated, 7 of them are in intensive care, while 3 are intubated.

Meanwhile, tests have continued at the Virology Laboratory at the IPH and during the last 24 hours 371 tests have been performed to suspected people of Covid19, of which 69 positive cases have been confirmed.

The geographical distribution of cases is as follows: 23 cases in Tirana, out of 10 cases in Durrës, Kruja, 6 in Vlora, 5 in Mat, 4 cases in Kurbin end Kamëz, out of 2 cases in Shkodra, Fier, Kavaja, 1 in Lushnje.

Despite the positively identified daily cases, the good news is that in the last 24 hours 25 citizens have been cured, bringing to 1459 the number of cured since the beginning of the epidemic.

Currently in our country there are 1014 active people with COVID19, mainly in Tirana, Shkodra, Durres.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection appeals to citizens, businesses, to strictly respect the implementation of the recommended measures: physical distance, use of masks in service and when it is not possible to observe distance, personal hygiene, disinfection of premises, ventilation of their, in order to limit the spread of Covid19.

The inspectors of the Anti-Covid Task Force will continue the controls in every subject, in institutions or commercial businesses of any kind, for the implementation of security protocols.

Violation of the rules by anyone will be considered a risk to the life and health of others.

The Ministry of Health and Social Protection once again has a prayer for citizens and businesses to show caution because the virus is still among us.
