14 new COVID cases in Albania, mostly symptomatic

 The Albanian Ministry reports that in the last 24 hours (June 6 and June 7) 14 new cases of coronavirus have been reported in our country.

Unlike other days, most of the infected people are symptomatic.

According to the Ministry of Health, the number of people hospitalized in the infectious disease hospital has also increased. Currently, 30 patients are being treated at the hospital, 6 of whom are in intensive care and 2 are intubated.

So far, 1246 people have been infected with coronavirus in Albania.

We inform you about the situation of COVID 19 in Albania, in the last 24 hours.

Tests have continued uninterrupted at the Virology Laboratory at the IPH relating to Covid19 suspected, and the intensive fieldwork by epidemiologists continues to actively track cases.

In the last 24 hours, 193 tests were performed, of which 14 positive cases were confirmed, respectively, 10 cases in Tirana, 2 cases in Shkodra, 1 in Kruja, 1 in Durrës.

The confirmed cases in the last 24 hours are family contacts of positive cases and some new cases in the investigation process. Most of those affected in the last 24 hours are symptomatic, with clinical signs of Covid19.

There are new hospitalizations and an increase in cases in the infectious disease hospital, where currently 30 people are being treated, 6 of whom are in intensive care, 2 of them are intubated.

During the last 24 hours, 13 citizens have recovered, bringing the number of the recovered to 938 since the beginning of the epidemic. There are currently 274 active people in our country with COVID19, about 70% of whom are in Tirana.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, over 18,000 molecular and serological tests have been performed and 1246 cases have been positively confirmed. In the Microbiology Laboratory at QSUT, 2035 serological tests were performed on health personnel, with a total positivity of about 7%.
