Albanian-Americans appeal to Trump policy toward Kosovo

A coalition of more than 40 Albanian-American organizations have expressed concern about the US policy towards Kosovo. In a letter to President Trump, activists warn that the direction of this policy is being influenced by individuals who do not enjoy popularity or support in the population.

"Kosovars fear that Serbian lobbying has damaged the morale of the United States and that the United States may turn its head to the other side, while Kosovo could potentially be further fragmented to suit Serbia's nationalist ambitions," the letter said.

In a conversation of VOA with three activists, they say that the people with whom the administration is talking in the Balkans do not enjoy the support of the population and that the alternatives that these individuals can propose will not bring the promised stability and progress. The entrepreneurs and activists Harry Bajraktari and Richard Lukaj and the Washington-based consultant and activist Drilon Gashi say in an interview that in this period of the political crisis in the Balkans, measured steps are needed to find a long-term and sustainable solution based on the will of the population.
