The Albanian U-16 girls' team showed a great performance in the UEFA Development Tournament where they won the third match in a row against the team of Montenegro with the result 5-2. The girls, led by the experienced Albanian coach Agustin Kola, have triumphed in all three games, 3-1 against Lithuania, 3-1 against Georgia and today 5-2 against Montenegro.

“This is a very talented group. We are very happy that our selection and work with these girls brought this success. We need the support of our families and our girls to get closer to football. We wait for them in matches and stadiums. Our work with this team will continue,” said Kola.

“It is an honor for us to play under the colors of Albania at Air Albania Stadium in front of thousands of our sports fans. We are very excited. We will continue to give the best for our reds,” said Captain Iliadhi.

“We are happy to welcome this UEFA tournament. It is not the first and it will not be the last. We are working closely with the European football government to bring more tournaments to Albania. We are looking forward to the U-16 boys' tournament of Albania, Algeria, Georgia, and Lithuania at the end of this month”, said the Secretary-General of the Football Federation Ilir Shulku.

The Albanian Football Federation (AFF) has given special importance to this tournament by organizing it at the two national stadiums, Air Albania and Elbasan Arena, while all four teams have gathered in the Durres area. The AFF has declared children's and women's football as the central priority of all 2020 activities.
