Albania and Italy have signed a cooperation protocol to strengthen interaction in the field of health care, including free treatment of hard cases of Albanian patients at Bari University Hospital.

"I am very pleased that we are establishing a long-standing collaboration between the two university hospitals, the Bari Polyclinic and the Mother Teresa University Hospital Center. In addition to all the projects that are concretized and formalized in this cooperation agreement, there will also be 10 cases of Albanian patients, which are considered hard cases and require more specialized support, which will be treated in Italy,” Manastirliu said after signing the agreement.

Stressing that this agreement will serve to enhance the experience of our teams, Manastirliu said that the exchange of experiences between experts is very important to develop the medicine of our two countries. Whereas the Director of the Bar Polyclinic, Mr. Giovani Migliore said that today is concretized long-term cooperation between our two countries.

“I would like to thank the Republic of Albania and Minister Manastirliu for the great opportunity offered to the Puglia Region. Our reports are intense, early, friendly, collaborative and professional. This agreement comes to life after many years of cooperation that have brought about the mutual growth of both communities." Migliore said.

The protocol between Mother Teresa University Hospital Center and the POLICLINICO Consortium at Bar University Hospital stipulates that the parties establish the International Health Cooperation Committee. The Committee shall direct and supervise all operations related to this Protocol, periodically reporting to the Parties.
