Two Russian diplomats will leave Sofia within 48 hours on espionage allegations
 
 On January 24, Russian Ambassador to Sofia Anatoly Makarov has been called to be present to the Foreign Ministry of Bulgaria. 

He received a note stating that within 48 hours two Russian diplomats accused of espionage should leave Bulgaria.

Makarov has stated that the deadline will be respected. Russia reserves the right to take action in response, the Russian Embassy said in a statement on Facebook and added that no evidence had been received of the allegations, this is what Radio of Bulgaria says.

The signal against the diplomats was given by the Bulgarian State Agency for National Security. According to the prosecution, one of the two Russians has been an employee in a trade representative office in Sofia and has been collecting information on energy. The other is the first secretary at the mission of the Consulate and has been involved in electoral processes in Bulgaria.
