Faruk Baybesin arrested in Tirana, considered the Turkish Escobar who trafficked € 14 billion, wanted by France

A 53-year-old man from Turkey has been arrested in Albania as he was wanted by French law, as one of the traffickers of the 'Baybesin' criminal family, whose leader was Hussein Baybesin, regarded several years ago as Europe's Escobar.

Faruk Baybesin, sentenced to 30 years in prison for heroin trafficking cases, is wanted by the court of Loire Atlantique, which has found him guilty of belonging to a criminal organization trafficking heroin in Europe. French justice, through the documents that he urgently forwarded, seeks Baybesin's submission on the argument that during 1994-1995 Baybesin was active in drug trafficking also in France as a member of a gang operating not only in Turkey but also in France.

A Tirana court has issued a 40-day jail sentence for Faruk Baybesin, who attempted to enter Albania to hide but was discovered by authorities. He has confessed to being the son of another convicted trafficker, Mahmut Baybesin, who also turns out to be part of the narcotics family.

The group was even labeled as "Europe's Escobars" after the group's leader Hussein Baybaşin was named Europe's Escobar. The media reported on the activities of this group at the time that Hüseyin Baybaşin, Mehmet Emin Baybaşin, Mehmet Şerif Baybaşin, Mehmet Şirin Baybaşin, Mahmut Baybaşin were family members who ended up in prison for drugs. The group's revenue from heroin are estimated at £ 10 billion.
