Bulqiza miners protesting in Tirana asking for their demands to be met

The Bulqiza Miners' Union protested today in front of the Ministry of Finance in Tirana for their demands to be met.

They have submitted their requests as follows and as can bee seen in the above video:

1. Salary growth and negotiating the collective contract

2. Amount of working hours review

3. Payment for seniority and difficulty in work

4. Compensation in case of accidents at work

5. Stop pressure on workers

6. Restitution of illegally dismissed unionists

7. Recognizing the status of the miner

The miners say the state is on the Albchrome company side in any clash. There have been clashes between miners and the Albchrome company since November 22. They started after the creation of SMBB (the new Union) and the dismissal of its 4 founders. The new union has also clashed with existing unions, which claim that conditions and salaries of the miners have improved.

The company has rejected the SMBB claims, while the older unions have doubts about the intentions and ways the new union is operating.
